Alfred Z. Carvajal, age 89, entered into eternal rest on August 4, 2015. He was born May 12, 1926 to Louis P. and Isabel Zepeda Carvajal. At age 17, Alfred enlisted in the U.S. Navy to fight in WWII. He served in the Pacific aboard the USS Newberry. He landed with the Marines on Iwo Jima and witnessed the raising of the flag. After the military, Alfred had a successful career as an architectural draftsman in San Antonio, Houston and Arlington, Tx.

He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Annie F. Carvajal and son Oscar L. Carvajal. He is survived by his daughters Anita A. Carvajal and Monica E. Dovalina, sons Alfred G. Carvajal, Anthony B. Carvajal, Paul A. Carvajal, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Alfred was a humble man who dearly loved the Lord. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

The Rosary will be held on August 12 at 7:00 PM. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 13 at 10:00 AM. Both services will be held at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, Blanco, Tx.
