Alice Faye
Kneupper
Sep 11, 1938 — Apr 16, 2026
Kendalia
Alice Faye Kneupper , 87, passed away peacefully in her home on April 16, 2026. Alice Faye Spencer was born September 11, 1938 to Emma Adeline Morgan Spencer and Daniel Webster Spencer in Fowlerton, TX.
Alice grew up in San Antonio and moved to Comfort as a freshman. She graduated in the top four of her class from Comfort High School in 1957. She worked at the Comfort Mapping company for a couple of years when she met Ralph on a double date. They married November 12, 1960 and Alice became a country girl, but only after Ralph agreed to install indoor plumbing. Their daughters, Tammy Lynn, Melodie Dawn and Pamela Diane came along over the next six years. In addition to farming, ranching, and being a homemaker Alice sewed, crocheted and knitted. She would often sew matching dresses for the three girls. She also gardened and canned. Ralph liked to hunt, occasionally from the bedroom window, as did the nephews, and years later their daughters and sons-in-laws. Alice supervised the processing of many, many pounds of venison sausage. Her yeast hot rolls became a beloved tradition at family holidays.
Alice enjoyed playing bunco and attending the Kendalia Neighbors Extension Home Demonstration Club and Kendalia Community Club. She was one of the three members who reopened the Kendalia Community Church. Several years after the girls were in school, Alice went to work at Sears and then Pedernales Electric Cooperative, where she retired as a Purchasing Clerk.
Sports became one of her passions. She rooted for the her Blanco Panthers as her daughters twirled, marched in the band and cheered. She was a very patient mother of her trumpet, drum and french horn players. She later supported her grandchildren's sports games from the sidelines. From her easy chair she heartily cheered for the Cowboys, Spurs and Texans.
After Ralph died in 1982, Alice kept the ranch going with the help of family, particularly her nephews, and community friends.
Alice travelled every chance she got from going on an all-girls camping trip (in a tent) to Big Bend to ocean cruising in Alaska. Some of her favorite destinations included visiting her daughter in New England, trips to Colorado, Branson, Yellowstone and Alaska. She also enjoyed visiting the casinos.
Alice served the Kendalia Volunteer Fire Department making enchiladas, cornbread and chili for the annual Mexican Supper and soliciting funds for the Blanco County Youth Livestock Show to purchase animals during the sale.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Adeline Morgan and Daniel Webster Spencer, grandmother "Mom" Eva Mae Morgan and grandfather John Morgan, husband Ralph Charles Kneupper, grandson Trey Allen Noah, nephew Mark Edward Spencer, brothers Daniel Webster Spencer, Jr. and John Isaac Spencer.
She is survived by her daughter Tammy Kneupper Brisco of Lewisville, TX, her husband Richard, granddaughter Lauren Michelle Kennedy, husband Kevin, great grandsons Bennett, Reid and Henderson; granddaughter Melissa Brisco Shrive, husband Tyler, great grandsons Charlie and Callum, and grandson Michael Barrett Brisco.
Daughter Melodie Dawn Noah of Kendalia, TX, her husband Darrell, grandson Tyler Ross, wife Chelsea and great granddaughters Braila and Isley.
