Obituary

Apolonia Martinez De Calzoncit , 79, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023 in Austin, TX. Apolonia, known most as Pola, was born in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico on March 28, 1944.

Pola is survived by six of her children, Jesus, Jr., Eduardo (Leslie), Graciela (Arturo), Ricardo (Tara), Salvador (Megan), and Simona; eighteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one sister, one brother, and many nieces and nephews.

Pola was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Jesus, Sr., daughter, Apolonia, one sister and two brothers.

Pola always had an open door and was quick to cook up everyone's favorite foods.  She loved her scratch-offs, loteria and cards and keeping her flowers beautiful.  She was her happiest when her growing family would get together, anything involving her grandchildren, thrifting with her daughters, and dancing with her sons to their favorite songs.  It is because of her kindness and the love that she had for her family that she will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco.  A Rosary will begin that evening at 7:00 PM in the Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 20, 2023 at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 25 Main St., Blanco, TX 78606.  Interment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
