Arthur "Art" Leroy Daniel, 82, passed away June 9, 2016 in San Antonio, surrounded by his loving family.  Art was born in San Antonio on October 28, 1933 to Rufus B Daniel, Jr. and Dorothy Bonn Daniel.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years (3 days short of 63), Marjorie Preiss Daniel; three children, Carl "Butch" Daniel and wife Gayle, Nellda Gallagher and husband John, and Kenneth Daniel and ex-wife Lisa Densmore Daniel; one sister, Barbara Lou Eickenroht; six grandchildren, Paul Arthur Daniel (Christina), Andrew and Emily Gallagher, Mason, Catherine, and Jordan Daniel; and one great granddaughter, Fiona Elise Daniel.  Art will also be greatly missed by many other relatives and a host of dear friends.

Art's 2 passions were working for the MKT Railroad and the North Blanco Co. EMS. He was a 3rd generation employee of the MKT, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, father, and uncle. He started with them at the age of 16 as a messenger boy working his way up to Yardmaster of Dallas Yard until his retirement in 1980. After moving to Johnson City, Art interviewed with Bill Watson at a local carwash about volunteering for the Blanco County EMS. A new friendship was born and Art spent the next 20 years responding to emergencies and maintaining and polishing the cleanest ambulances in the Great State of Texas.

A memorial service celebrating Art's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Lyndon B. Johnson Event Center, 227 Settlement Rd., Johnson City, TX 78636.
