Bernice K. Gourley, 98, resident of Live Oak Nursing Home, Blanco, Texas passed away on Monday, March 12, 2007. She was born on September 11, 1908 in Kendalia, Texas to Albert and Minnie Edge Kneupper.She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Gourley, her parents,Albert and Minnie Kneupper, and her brother, Roy Dale Kneupper.She lived in Kendalia most of her life. In 1977 she moved to San Marcos to be near her son. She lived there until moving to Blanco to the Live Oak Nursing Home in 2004. Her greatest love was her family, her son, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the many family members and friends she leaves behind. She loved life and was always appreciative of the wonders of it. She loved to crochet and garden. She grew many flowers and plants in her yard in San Marcos. She would sit outside and feed the deer, squirrels, and birds. She was a lover of nature.She leaves behind her son, Dean Gourley and wife Leola of San Marcos, her grandson David Gourley and Becky of San Marcos, her granddaughter Cindy Martin and Collins, of Boerne, her great grandsons, Dustin Bray, Payden Price, and Spencer Gourley, and one great granddaughter, Laura Price, sisters-in-law Etta Belle Gourley of Ingram and Lavonia Bourgeois of Blanco, and numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco from 4 to 7 Wednesday, and the funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, at 10 a.m. at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco, with nephew George Gourley, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Kneupper Cemetery in Kendalia.Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren, David Gourley and Cindy Martin, her great grandchildren, Dustin Bray, Payden and Laura Price and Spencer Gourley.
