Bessie Elizabeth Goebel , beloved resident of Cypress Mill, TX, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Born on December 9, 1947, in Tavares, FL, she was the daughter of Jerry Meyer McCranie and Lula Bell McCranie (nee Barnhill).
Bessie was a remarkable woman who dedicated many years of her life as the Postmaster of Cypress Mill. She not only managed the mail route with utmost diligence but also served as the Manager of the Cypress Mill Store. Known for her warm heart and boundless generosity, she would willingly lend a helping hand to anyone in need, regardless of who they were. Bessie will forever be cherished as the best mother-in-law anyone could ask for.
She is now reunited with her parents and four siblings: Joe McCranie, Lewis McCranie, Mae Bell Moore, and Margaret June Featherston. Bessie is survived by her dear friend and companion of 20 years, John Craft; her loving children, David Hall, Sandra Jo Moon (B.C. Coleman), Debbie Cothern (Ricky J.), and Elizabeth Elnora Britt (Philip). Additionally, she leaves behind three brothers, Mack McCranie, Jerry McCranie, and David Wheat, as well as five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Bessie's absence will deeply touch numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of dear friends.
A celebration of Bessie's remarkable life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 1:00 PM at her residence located at 233 Goebel Dr., Cypress Mill, TX 78663. Join us as we gather to honor and commemorate the wonderful woman she was, sharing stories, laughter, and tears of joy in remembrance of a life well-lived.
With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Bessie, but her memory will forever echo within our hearts. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
