Blas Corpus, Jr., 59, passed away September 13, 2016. Blas Jr. was born September 5, 1957, to Blas and Georgia Hinojosa Corpus in Richmond, TX. He was raised in Johnson City, Texas, along with his sisters and brother. He attended grade school in Johnson City and graduated from L.B.J. in 1976. As a student, he participated in FFA, Spanish Club, Basketball, Football, Baseball, Track and Tennis. In his senior year, Blas was voted "Most Friendly" and "Best All-Around" by his classmates and received the Sportsmanship award. In his free time, he enjoyed playing and coaching men's softball, adult co-ed softball and various youth sports. He traveled around the nation for tournament play with multiple softball teams and always had a love for the sport.

He is survived by his sisters, Lydia Ferguson of San Antonio, TX; Ebinia Vega and husband, Andres; Stella Corpus; and brother, Zenon Corpus and wife Tracy, all of Johnson City, TX.
