Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bobbie Ruth Hale Behnke on August 26, 2024.  A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Bobbie left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Born on May 24 (Lakeside Park Day), in 1940, in San Antonio, TX, to Robert B. Hale and Ruth V. Allred Hale, she was a woman of strength, resilience, and kindness.

Graduating Valedictorian from Sam Houston High School in 1957, Bobbie was a dedicated athlete with a passion for baseball, water skiing, motorcycle riding, fishing, football, basketball and hunting. Her thirst for knowledge led her to excel in the field of computer technology, where she worked tirelessly in various I.T. departments.

Settling in the serene landscape of Kendalia, TX, Bobbie and Curtis, her husband, created cherished memories fostering lifelong bonds within the community. They were longtime members of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco, TX. Known for their adventures along the Gulf Coast and travels in their RV (everywhere between Texas, California, Wisconsin and Virginia), Bobbie and Curtis shared a love that transcended time. She also loved spending time on her motorcycle, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and spending time making pottery, doing leather crafts, playing the piano and other things.

Bobbie's legacy lives on through her daughter, Bonnie Elizabeth Truesdell Felps; son, Jeffrey Brian Kress (Terrie); step-daughter, Lee Ann Inglefield Kabana (John); step-daughter, Nanni Bettina Behnke Baker (Bo); step-daughter, Jackie Odette Behnke Mobley (Don); step-son, Marcus Curtis Behnke (Zdenka); her brother, Shandy Hale (Pauline); her twenty adoring grandchildren: Jeremy, Paul, Amanda, Daniel, Laura, Shannon, Brianne, Kelsey, Robbie, Lucas, Shane, Ashlee, Nolan, James, Baylen, Cody, Alexandra, Harrison, Brandon and Dylan; over a baker's dozen of great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. A woman of grace and wisdom, Bobbie exemplified the true essence of family and friendship.

As we mourn the loss of Bobbie Ruth Hale Behnke, let us remember her vibrant spirit, unwavering dedication, and the love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her memory be a beacon of light in our hearts forevermore. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
