BobbiJean Fickle was born April 18, 1959 and died July 24, 2018. Her father, Robert Eugene Fickle, preceded her in death. She is survived by her mother Erika Hermean Jurgens Fickle, one brother Erich Brent Fickle and wife Luella Martin Fickle, one sister Susan Victoria Fickle Jones and husband Charles Michael Jones.
She is an aunt to Justin Jones and wife Veronica Salazar Jones, Travis Jones, Robert Jones, Victoria Ann Jones Grissom and husband Patrick Dale Grissom.
She is a great aunt to Grant, Scout, Lovely Jones and soon to be born Patrick Dale Grissom III. She holds the honorary title of aunt to Chelsea and Cody Harvey and families and to Ryan Edwards.
As a member of 4H she earned the rank of All Star. She was chosen to attend the Citizenship Short Course in Washington DC
She inherited her flare as a photographer from her father. She was a terrific artist both paint and crafts. She used her talents to create for the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 352 market day fundraisers and worked at their events. She honored her father with her membership.
She graduated from Villa Park High School in 1977, went on to study at California State University at San Francisco, graduated from Long Beach State University with a degree in Linguistics and teaching credential K- 12. Her Master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages was from University of Texas at San Antonio. She holds five other certifications.
She loved school and was an excellent teacher. She taught in Westminster School District in California before moving to Texas. In Westminster ISD she had several Vietnamese and Cambodian students and quickly picked up both languages, so she could communicate with the parents. In Texas she taught at Conroe ISD and most recently at the John Wood School attached to the Juvenile Detention Center in San Marcos where she taught English and Writing Skills 5 th through 12 th grade. She loved the staff she was working with and the students. She spent much of her free time finding materials suited for motivating the students and they made her proud.
She was a member of TICA and was a breeder of Bengal cats. Loved going to cats shows and spending time with her friends there.
She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She had a gift of giving love and support to all that knew her. She has enriched so many lives.
Memorial Services will be held at Crofts- Crow Funeral Home located at 911 Mesquite Ave in Blanco, Texas on Saturday August 4 th , 2018 at 4:00 p.m.
