Brenda Joyce Smith of Johnson City passed away peacefully Monday, October 25, 2021 in San Antonio, TX, surrounded by her children.  She was born September 18, 1954 in Madisonville, TX to Raymond Pete Smith and Mary Ruth (Gray) Smith.

Brenda was a cosmetologist by trade and loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and family.  She loved to go dancing and all things related to the ocean and beach. Brenda was a baseball fan and the Astros were her team!  GO STROS! She loved anything purple and she even colored her hair purple!  Anytime she was asked where she wanted to go eat, she wanted "tacos, You Hear Me!"

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Mary and her sister Carolyn Cherry.  She is survived by her daughter Tami Tyler and son in law Erik Garcia, and her son Heath Eckenrode; grandchildren, Rick, Taryn, Christian, Beckett, Daniel, A.J., Caitty, Leah, Kristin, Zack, and Christa; and 8 great grandchildren.  Brenda is also survived by her brothers Lonnie Smith and Mark Smith, niece Aimee Welch and her husband Greg, and many other loving relatives and dear friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, November 5, 2021 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079.
