Obituary

Camilla Jo Pilgrim, beloved mother, Mee Mee and friend, age 82, of Round Mountain, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2022.

Camilla was born on November 08, 1939, in Austin, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel P. Smith and Thelma Alderson Smith, as well as her husband, Walter Edward Pilgrim.

She graduated from Johnson City High School in 1957 and married her high school sweetheart, Walter Edward Pilgrim at Walnut Methodist Church on June 14, 1957.  Camilla was a lifelong member of the Walnut Methodist Church where she served as trustee for many years, a member of The Johnson City Woman's Civic Club, and was active in the Blanco County Fair and Rodeo Association chairing both the parade and queen's contest for several years.

Camilla's career included working in the offices of M.C. Winters Company, Inc. and Felps Manufacturing Company.  In her later years, she returned to her childhood home on the Smith Ranch where she continued raising cattle and enjoying the pleasures of her ranching heritage.

Camilla is survived by daughter Leann George and husband Ken George of Round Mountain, daughter Midge Dockery and husband Joe Don Dockery of Marble Falls, four grandchildren, Quinten Kunz and wife Brandi, Kelli Mann and husband A.J, Devon Riley and husband Cade, and Hannah Jo Birck and husband Chase.  Great grandchildren Kadin Kunz, Bowen Mann, Korbin Kunz, Adley Mann, Sloane Riley and Brooks Birck arriving in December. Camilla is also survived by her sister, Frankie Hohenberger and husband, Kirby along with her nephew, Jason Hohenberger and wife, Allison and niece, Jennifer Helfrich and husband Jason and their children.

Please join the family for a visitation Thursday, October 27, 2022, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home, 305 E. Elm St., Johnson City, TX 78636.

Funeral services honoring Camilla's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 28, 2022, at Walnut Methodist Church, 1153 FM 3347, Round Mountain, TX 78663.  Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery, 248 FM 3347, Round Mountain, TX 78663.
