CDR Lowell "Douglas" Felps USN Retired

A Celebration of Life for CDR Lowell "Douglas" Felps USN Retired will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Miller Creek Cemetery in Johnson City, TX.

Mr. Felps passed away on May 19, 2023 at Greenville Gardens in Greenville, TX.

Douglas was born on December 16, 1939 in Johnson City, TX to Alton and Louise (Wiedebusch) Felps. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1962. He married Glenda Wickersham on December 30, 1965, in Grand Prairie, TX. Douglas was a career United States Navy officer and retired as a Commander. He then joined L3/Harris as a Program Manager and retired from there. He enjoyed deer hunting, archery, fishing and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Felps (Greenville, TX.); daughter, Amy Felps (Norwich England; granddaughter, Taylor Cain (Norwich, England); sister, Patsy Maulding and her husband, Davis (Carrollton, TX.); brother, Dale Felps (Boerne, TX.); sister, Carla Felps Feller (Spring Hill, TN.) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Douglas was preceded in death by his mother, Louise (Wiedebusch) Felps; father, Alton Felps, and son, Lowell "Doug" Felps, Jr.
