Obituary

Daniel Joseph Kubin, 67, passed away July 8, 2016 in San Antonio, TX.  Daniel was born in Baytown, TX to Stanley and Rose Machala Kubin.  After growing up in Crosby, TX, Danny attended and received his Bachelor's Degree from Texas A&M University.  During college, he married his high-school sweetheart, Mary Michalsky.  After college Danny enlisted and proudly served with the U.S. Army for two years.  Danny worked for the family business and later began his professional career.  He and Mary lived a wonderful life of 47 years and raised two beautiful girls. They eventually moved to Blanco, TX in 1997.  The Texas Hill Country was always Danny's heaven on earth.  Daniel was a long-time and devoted member to St. Ferdinand Catholic Church and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Rita Gregory, Margaret Cutbirth, and Bernadette Eilers.  Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Mary Michalsky Kubin; two daughters, Wendy Kotrla and husband Bryan, Amy Swenson and husband Travis; four grandchildren, MaKenna and Kaitlyn Kotrla and Samuel Swenson and Megan Carbaugh; two sisters, Mary Ann Fischer and Dorothy Janacek; and one brother, John Kubin and wife Faye.  Anyone who knew Danny knows what making memories with his family meant to him.  He was the definition of what a family man was to his entire family and many friends and relatives.
