Dean Sawey , lifelong resident of Blanco, TX, passed away at the age of 76 on April 11, 2024, in Wimberley, TX. Born on January 24, 1948 to Oscar and Novella Sawey. He had a passion for building and fixing old cars and owned Dean's Tire and Auto in town for many years.

When he wasn't under the hood of a vehicle, you could find him with his wife, girls, and grandchildren enjoying life. He was always teaching his girls how to hunt, fish and most of all, to be a good person and how to be self-sufficient. He enjoyed spending time with his family at holidays and was very involved in the family gatherings. He was also very involved in his grandchildren's lives. He enjoyed being a pawpaw, teaching them the same values and skills he taught his girls. He loved Halloween and would go all out with decorating and costumes for his grandchildren. He loved to tell old stories of his life growing up. He loved to just gather his family up and go for a drive with no certain destination. He was a patient, loving dad and pawpaw.

He is survived by his best friend and love of his life of 56 years Mary (Dotson) Sawey, four daughters, Deana Graham and husband Russell, Melissa Lombard and husband JR, Casandra (Cassy) Steele, and Crystal Weber, his eight grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Bryan, Joseph, Wyatt, Emily, Hannah, Savanah and Trinity, great grandchildren Hailey, Ella, Parker, and Colton, lots of cousins, relatives, and friends. He never knew a stranger.

A memorial service to celebrate Dean's life is set to take place at 4:00 PM on Friday, April 19, 2024, at the Chapel of Crofts - Crow Funeral Home. Those wishing to pay their respects can visit with Dean's family starting at 3:00 PM on the same day at the funeral home. Let's gather to remember a man who lived life the way he wanted, with a heart full of love for family and friends.
