Obituary

On October 26th, 1941, Dominga L. Romero was born in Hondo, Texas to the late Magdaleno and Graviela (Salazar) Ledesma. She had one sister and four brothers, all starting their lives in Hondo. She would live in Hondo until the love of her life would pass through town on one of his adventures. She was swept off her feet by Arturo C. Romero and married him in 1959. They would soon move to Blanco, Texas where she would work at the church retreat she loved so much, just outside of Blanco.

She loved helping families smile, dedicating herself to the retreat and loving Arturo. In 1959 she had a daughter, Lupe who would later marry Jesse Barrera, also of Blanco. Lupe would bless Dominga with five grandchildren, Angel, Becky, Raquel, Diana and Carlos. She would be fortunate to be able to love twelve great grandchildren. She would share in many football games, birthday parties and family gatherings. Anyone who met Dominga felt like they knew her for years. She opened her doors to all and hospitality was one of her best qualities. Nothing like her home cooking. Family always came first. After retiring she would spend endless evenings with Arturo and their family. Her big brown eyes, warm smile and gentle hugs and safety would comfort all her family to the end. She would spend her last day with her close family by her side. All their love pouring into her unconditionally. Until we see you again, you will be truly missed.

Dominga goes on to be reunited with the love of her life Arturo. She is survived by her daughter; Lupe Barrera and husband Jesse, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two brothers; Juan and Pedro Ledesma.
