Obituary

Donald Franklin Felps, 83, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 in Fredericksburg, TX. He was born February 21, 1932 in Johnson City to Wylie Felps and Louella Barder Felps. Donald proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force where he was a pilot, and then became a mechanical instructor of jet engines. Following his military career, Donald achieved his associate's degree in Pre-Engineering and was a successful entrepreneur with Felps Automotive, opened its doors in 1986 and is currently ran by Mike Felps. Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman, going on several trips with his son. People offered referred to Donald as respectful, kind, a man of integrity and the Felps gene of being stubborn. He fell in love with flying during his time in the service and kept flying as long as he could. He is now flying the forever flight with his lost loved ones. He was loved and we will all miss him very much!
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Felps. Donald is survived by his wife of 39 years, Louetta Lange Felps; seven children, Mark, Connie, Mike, Karen, Kathy, Curtis, and Jed; step son, William Wolf, Jr. and step daughter, Brenda Wolf; brother, Roger "Buddles" Felps; sister, Nancy Houle; 21 grandchildren, Derek, Jalen, Katy, Sierra, Ashley, Tiffany, Jonathan, Jennifer, Jamie, Christopher, Anthony, Jeremy, Paul, Amanda, Daniel, Laura, Shannon, Derek, Delaney, Nicholas, and Dawson; sixteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM ? 7:00 PM Monday, August 24, 2015 at Crofts - Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday morning with Rev. Bill Wiemers officiating. Interment will follow in Miller Creek Cemetery.
