Doris Hall Cage passed away at home on December 11, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Claron, and son Lee, parents, William Henry Hall and Nora Jackson Hall, brother, Billy Hall and wife Rebecca, sister-in-law Stella Rae Wiley and husband Don and brother-in-law Reuben Wyatt Cage. She is survived by daughters Cindy Cage Waggoner, Irene Cage (Ren), Fern Hardy (Randy), and daughter-in-law Barbara Cage, grandchildren Melissa Waggoner, Tommy Hardy (Cynthia), Alison Chaffey (Dale), great-grand children Vincent Hardy, Aubrey and Harper Chaffey, sister-in-law Shirley Cage, and many dearly loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doris was a proud member of Blanco High School Class of 1938. After graduating she attended Southwest Texas State University.
Many people will remember Doris as a longtime employee of the Blanco National Bank. In 1985 she began a second career as the Blanco County Treasurer where she enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow county officials and staff.
After retiring, Doris enjoyed volunteering at the library and keeping books for Gem of the Hills Senior Activity Community Center where she met regularly for exercise with old friends and enjoyed meeting new friends.
Family was important to Doris. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Recently she was happiest when her great-grandchildren's entertaining visits brought the entire family together.
We will miss hearing her laugh as she read the comics and watched her favorite TV sitcoms.
Please join the family as we celebrate her life. A memorial will be at First Baptist Church, Blanco, on Tuesday, December 22nd at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Blanco EMS, P. O. Box 632, Blanco, Texas 78606.
