Doris Rhodes Collins was born on April 5, 1928 in San Perlita, Texas, and passed from this life on November 18, 2015 in Blanco. In 1944, upon graduation from high school at the age of 16, she immediately moved to San Antonio to attend Business College, and soon began applying her professional skills in a variety of businesses. She married Ollie Collins in December 1950, and for over 20 years was responsible for the Insurance Division of the Hohenburger-Collins Real Estate Agency. In 1979, Ollie and Doris settled on a fifteen acre ranch on the Little Blanco River where they enjoyed a life of hospitality and active leisure. They moved to a house in Blanco in 1994. Upon Ollie's passing in 2006, Doris became an energetic volunteer, and was known for her life of selfless service to her family and others. She assisted regularly at Live Oak Nursing Home, Good Samaritan Clothing Center, and Blanco Chamber of Commerce. The church was at the very center of Doris's life since she was young, and she has been an involved member of the Church of Christ in Blanco since 1979. She is survived by three brothers: Kenneth Rhodes of Summerville, Texas, Bob Rhodes of Raymondville, Texas, and Gene Rhodes of Dallas, Texas; and a sister, Marilyn Lara of Yuma, Arizona. She is also survived by daughter Sharon Utley and husband Bruce of San Antonio, grandson Clay Utley and wife Heather of Seattle, and granddaughter Erin Voss and husband Brendan of San Antonio, and three great grandsons: Max, Griffin and Henry.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Crofts ? Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, Texas from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services will be on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Crofts ? Crow Funeral Chapel in Blanco, Texas at 10:00 AM and burial will follow in Round Mountain Cemetery, in Round Mountain, Texas.
