Dorothy Lackey , age 99, of Johnson City died on July 17, 2019.  She was born on August 20, 1919 in San Antonio to the late Inez and Dan Dunham.  Dorothy married J.C. Lackey on September 20, 1937. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1988.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, D'Ann Elledge of Johnson City and Jamie Hasserodt and husband of Vanderbilt, TX; daughter-in-law, Audrey Lackey of Monahans, TX; her grandchildren, Lynette Taylor husband Pat of Loving, TX, Bubba Elledge, and wife Iris of Austin, TX, Louise Fitch and husband Ben of Luling, TX, Lance Elledge and wife Shari of Luling , TX, Jimmy Dufner of Vanderbilt, Jennifer Bermea and husband Edward of Vanderbilt, Jessie Kelly and wife Tina of Vanderbilt, Mandy Lackey of Monahans, Scott Lackey and wife Maxine of Sherwood, OR, Carrie Lackey of Monahans, Laurie Andrews and husband John of Monahans, Penny Neely and husband Mike of Olfen, TX, and Celia Bowen and husband Jeff of Odessa, TX.  Dorothy had 23 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Dan Dunham, sister Barbara Culberson, sons, Larry Lackey and Rodney Lackey and great granddaughter, Vikki Barnes.

Dorothy loved seeing friends and playing dominoes.  She was a social butterfly and loved to spend her time doing any type of craft.  Her earlier years were spent decorating cakes, making stained glass and learning any type of handy-work that she could.  She was an avid 42 player and loved to win any game she played.

Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City where funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Miller Creek Cemetery.
