On the morning of March 17, 2019, Dorothy Louise Tanner passed away at the age of 88.  Dorothy was born January 10, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas to Herbert and Grace L'Armee.  She went to work at the age of 16 to help support her family and continued working until she retired at the age of 80.  She married Wayne Roger Tanner in October of 1949 and together they raised two children, Wendy and Steve.

Dorothy loved spending time with her family, friends and the many brothers and sisters of her Faith.  She was an excellent storyteller and could keep others entertained with her sense of humor and easy ability to laugh at herself.  She treated everyone equally and taught her children that no one was above or below them.  Her compassion and generosity were known by everyone she met.  She had a positive attitude even when times were rough.  She never let the effects of old age keep her from enjoying life.  She loved working in her garden, fishing, or spending a day picking strawberries.  Dorothy always said, "Age is just a number." and "You're as young as you think you are."

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Paul, Bill, and Jim; and three sisters, Patricia, Ann, and Ada.  She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Wayne Tanner; daughter, Wendy Stoll and husband Bruce; son, Steve Tanner and wife Cara; sister-in-law, Jeanie L'Armee; four grandchildren, Jordan, Gage, Haley, and Rolando; four great grandchildren, Malachi, Dahlia, Alexandra, and Elisha.  Dorothy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Christadelphian Chapel, 669 Redstone Ranch Road in Hye, Texas followed by funeral services at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow at the Christadelphian Cemetery.
