Obituary

Edgar Wayne "Tobe" Moreland of Lampasas, TX left this world on April 19, 2025, in Round Rock, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family. Tobe was born on July 29, 1940, in Johnson City, Texas, to Edgar W. Moreland and Ada Elizabeth (Summy) Moreland.

A steadfast and dedicated worker, Tobe devoted many years of his life to Hobbs Exxon in Johnson City before committing his talents to M.C. Winters Construction Co. He later relocated to Lampasas, where he served the County of Lampasas and embraced retirement not just once, but twice, showcasing his devotion to both work and community.

Tobe's greatest joy came from his family. Following retirement, he embraced his role as a grandfather and great grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His passions included tending to his garden, delighting in fishing trips, crafting deer sausage with loved ones, savoring a good cup of coffee, and relishing his visits to the casinos.

Tobe was preceded in death by his parents, his former spouse and dear friend Patti (West) Moreland, his son Punkin Moreland, and his brothers Babe and Johnny Moreland. His legacy continues to thrive through his surviving children: Grady Moreland and wife Kari, Tammie Morgan and husband Dave, Stacey Hensiek and husband Roger, and Melvin Moreland and wife Adelle. He also leaves behind his cherished sister Sally Wells, brother Alton Moreland and wife Janie, an adoring array of grandchildren, including Kyle, Willie, Toni, Katy, Kristen, Shelby, Holly, Renee, Ashley, Michaela, Walter, Mason, and Morgan, as well as 28 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a vast community of friends.
