Henly
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elbert David Griffin , a beloved member of our community, who departed this life on April 7, 2026, at St. David's Hospital in Austin, Texas. Elbert was born on July 5, 1939, in Henly, Texas, to Gracie Lee Tinney and Clifford Blount Griffin. He displayed remarkable resilience and grace in his later years as he navigated the challenges of dementia while residing in a care facility in Dripping Springs.
Elbert was preceded in death by his parents and his six brothers: Cecil, Leroy, Alton, Jim, Kenneth, and Robert. He is survived by nieces, nephews and other loving relatives, who will carry forward his memory.
A proud and dedicated worker, Elbert devoted many years to the Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) in Johnson City, where he eventually retired. He continued to contribute to his community, thereafter working for 290 Fence in Dripping Springs.
An avid enthusiast of Ford vehicles, Elbert's passion for cars was a defining aspect of his life, and he delighted in the many models he owned throughout the years.
