Elizabeth (nee McConkey) Spellman of Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, June 14th, in Fredericksburg. She moved to Texas from Connecticut in 2002 to live with her daughter Kathleen's family on Old Austin Highway. Here she spent many a fine day on the front porch. Elizabeth was born in County Longford , Ireland on July 19th, 1910 and at age 19, in 1929 ,arrived in New York City. She met and married a fellow Irishman, Patrick Spellman, in 1936 and they had four children - Elizabeth, James, Thomas and Kathleen. Patrick, and children Elizabeth and Thomas preceded her in death. A rosary was recited for her at Crofts Funeral Home in Johnson City on Thursday, June 16th. A funeral mass for Elizabeth will be in Connecticut followed by burial in the town of Fairfield next to the man who loved her and has been waiting for her return.
