Obituary

Elman Fuchs, 91, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2015, surrounded by his family in Round Mountain, Texas. Elman was born on May 14, 1924, in Cypress Mill, Texas, to Hugo Paul and Gertrude Hyatt Fuchs. Elman started out as an entrepreneur in the gas station and trucking businesses until he found his passion of being a cowboy and a rancher. He took great pride in raising livestock in Texas, Nebraska and in the beautiful rolling hills of Osage County, Oklahoma, where he spent almost 50 years of his working life. He was respected and admired by his neighbors as well as the many people he dealt with throughout the years. Elman's work ethic and integrity quickly earned him the reputation of being the "go-to-man" to get the job done. A friend of his once stated "the definition of the word 'neighbor' should include the name Elman Fuchs."

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Rita Fuchs; his parents; his brothers, Gerald Fuchs and Joe Syd Fuchs; sister, Maurine Fuchs; and nephew Jerry Fuchs. Elman is survived by nephews: Timmy Maddox and wife, Kim, daughter Katherine; Dickie Fuchs and daughter Jody; Will Stribling Moursund and wife, Ingrid, children, Autumn and Albert; Edward Junker and wife, Jennifer, son Eric; Chris Junker; and John Moore and wife, Kitty, children, Trevor and David; nieces: Lynette Edmondson and husband, Sam, children, Ronnie, Russell, and Tracy; Trudy M. Carpenter and husband, Pat; Susan Griesemer and husband, Mike, children, Casey Griesemer and Alicia Slator; Carol Peltier and husband, Don, son Billy Johnson; Diane Hovis and husband, John, children, Edward and Greg; Mary Jo Pfiffer and husband, Roland, children, Cassandra Jo and Brian Judd; Mary Moore Moursund Reagor and husband, F.M. (Fuzzy); Rita Junker Pickar and husband, Richard; Carrie Moore; Charlotte Zuniga and husband, Antonio, son Alex; and Lorena Blaylock and husband, Monte, daughter, Ariel. He is also survived by friend, Leanna Adams, many cousins, loving caregivers and numerous other friends in Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska.

Pallbearers are: Albert W. Moursund, IV., Rory Boatright, Larry Beyer, Larry Graham, Travis Anderson, Macario Montoya, Lalo Ortiz and Codey Lewis.
Honorary Pallbearers: George Birck, Sonny Smith, Wallace Herbert, Richard Bright, H. L. Todd, Frank Haynes, Ranger Scott, Jake Williams and Richard Rennie.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, from 5:00 ? 7:00 PM at Crofts ? Crow Funeral Home, 305 E. Elm St., Johnson City, TX 78636, and funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home, with Rev. Ernest Topper officiating. Burial to follow at the Round Mountain Cemetery.
