Emil Dietrich Joost, Jr., age 84, passed away on Jan. 21, 2005 at his home in Cypress Mill, TX. He was born on May 31, 1920 in Houston, TX. Emil served in the Army Air Force during WWII, and afterwards had a long time career in ranching and worked for Stewart and Stevenson Services, Inc., Houston, TX.Survivors include wife Cynthia Manning Joost, children Robert and Jan Legg of Jacksonville, TX, Pete(Emil J.) and Carolyn Joost of Dallas, TX, John and Julie Joost of Dallas, and Mary Ann Whisenhunt of Houston, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. & Mrs. Emil Dietrich Joost, and sister Ruth Joost Wallace.Visitation is Sun. Jan. 23, 2005 at Crofts Funeral Home, Johnson City, TX from Noon 'til 8:00 PM. Memorial services are Mon. Jan. 24, 2005 1:00 PM at the St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Cypress Mill, TX with the Rev.
