Estha Hobbs passed away peacefully on December 5, 2006 at Knopp Nursing Home in Frederisckburg, Texas.She was born on August 7, 1929 to Gus and Bertha (Lindig) Sultemeier in Sandy, Texas. The youngest of ten children, she developed a love for the outdoors, country lifestyle and family. She attended school at Sandy Schoolhouse and graduated from Johnson City High School.On May 2, 1954 she married Jay Lee Hobbs where they made their home in Johnson City for over fifty years. She and Jay Lee worked side by side, building their home, raising a family, and enjoying their simple country life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.She enjoyed cooking , gardening and sewing for her family. For many years she made Jay Lee's pearl snap western shirts. She was a master in her ability to grow a wonderful garden and was known to harvest the deer that also enjoyed her garden. Her greatest joy was being "MeMe" to her six grandchildren. The profound impact she has had on their lives will remain forever in their hearts as she instilled in them the values of her faith, hard work, loving your family and all living things.Survivors include three daughters, Susan Hill and husband Steven, Barbara Schmidt and husband Stephen, Lisa Moore and husband Jimmy all of Johnson City. One son Jay Hobbs and wife Angela of Henly. And grandchildren Melissa Buchholz, Amanda and Matthew Schmidt, Jessica and Charlie Moore and Lance Hobbs. Two sisters Vera Dietert of New Braunsfels; and Hattie Fuchs of Blanco; two brothers Emil Sultemeier and Erwin Sultemeier both of Johnson City. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her husband Jay Lee, two brothers Alvin Sultemeier and Milton Sultemeier; three sisters Cora Weirich, Minnie Sultemeier and Clara Schilling.Pallbearers are Owen Smith, Evan Bohnert, Kermit Sultemeier, Richard Fuchs, Glenn Sultemeier and Jr. Didway.Services will be held Thursday December 7, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Crofts Funeral Home in Johnson City. Internment will be in Masonic Cemetery.
