We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Etta Jo Eiland of Blanco, Texas, who peacefully departed on February 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 29, 1930, in Petersburg, Texas, to Edgar and Faye Germany, Etta spent her formative years in Petersburg and graduated from Petersburg High School. Following her education, she pursued further learning at Texas Tech University and various locations where her late husband Bob was stationed with the U.S. Air Force. Etta found great joy in her vocation as a special education educator.

Etta had a multitude of hobbies that brought her immense happiness. She was gifted with her hands, indulging in activities such as sewing, knitting, quilting, and hooking. Her green thumb was evident in her passion for gardening and caring for her plants, and she had a keen eye for antiquing and refinishing furniture.

Etta was reunited with her parents and beloved husband Bob, who passed away in December 2023, in eternal peace. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth through her children, Kelly Eiland (Dee Dee) and Lisa Ann Leech (Tony); her grandchildren, Justin Eiland, Amanda Eiland Hicks (John), and Ryan Holmesly; as well as great-grandchildren, Nate Eiland, Westin Eiland, John Lee Hicks, James Hicks, Anna Jo Hicks, and Ella Sophia Pollock.

A visitation to honor and remember Etta will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the Chapel of the funeral home. Etta will be interred in the Historic Blanco Cemetery alongside her husband Bob.
