Evelyn H. Suggs, 93 of Blanco and formerly of Houston and Wimberly, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Visitation will at Crofts ? Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, on Wednesday, February 18th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas, on Thursday, February 19th at 1:00 PM under the direction of Crofts ? Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, Texas.
Evelyn was born on June 11, 1921 in La Grange, Texas to Fred Hoelter, Jr., and Frances Roitsch. She was a graduate of La Grange High School and attended 2 years in a business school in Houston and after graduating she worked for Gulf Oil. Evelyn married Jack O. Suggs on June 12, 1948 and they lived and worked in Bellaire, Texas and ran a taxidermy business. Jack passed away in 1979. In 2008 Evelyn moved to Wimberly, Texas to help take care of her younger sister Myrtle. After Myrtle passed away she moved to Blanco to be close to her son. Living in the Henry House Assisted Living she made several new friends and really enjoyed living there. In years passed she was a member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Houston, and liked to be called a lifelong resident of Bellaire, Texas. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack, and two sisters, Lillian Wiemken and Myrtle Thomas.
She is survived by her son; Russell Suggs and wife Linda of Blanco, a niece; Rose Ann Grissett and two nephews; Melvin and Bob Wiemken.
