It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Florence Edith Treece Mayfield . Born on January 9, 1931, to Alvin Dean Martin and Helena Barnett Martin, she departed from this world on September 4, 2024.
Edith's life was marked by various achievements and passions. She graduated from Tonkawa High School and later pursued a career in real estate, demonstrating her skills in the field. As a member of the Rebekah Lodge, she found a sense of community and camaraderie. An avid bowler, she excelled in the sport and found joy in each game she played, making many friends and acquaintances along the way.
In her spare time, Edith found solace in artistic pursuits, such as painting, and took delight in her extensive doll collection. She shared her love for creativity with her loved ones, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Edith was also a wonderful seamstress and sewed many years on her 1930's Singer sewing machine. Above all, Edith was a beloved mother to her three children, providing immeasurable love, guidance and support throughout their lives.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Louie Connie Treece and Jim Mayfield, sister Jewel Mae Martin, brothers, David Francis Martin, Harold Dean Martin, and Alvin Leon Martin, as well as grandchildren Brandon Treece and Dennis Earl Bradford and daughter in law, Glenda Treece.
She is survived by her daughter Meredith Ann Bradford and husband Felix, sons Steven Louis Treece and wife Jo Anne, and Michael Jayson Treece, brother Jimmie Dan Martin, step daughter, Judy Crowley, grandchildren Connie Bradford-Penshorn, Melissa Emord, Brandy Wagner, Steven Treece Jr., Jordan Treece, Jamie Treece, step-grandchildren Tammy Jackson and Shawn Bradford, as well as six great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Florence Edith Treece Mayfield will begin with visitation at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City. A ceremony honoring her life will follow at 6:00 PM.
A final burial service will take place on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM in Woodland Cemetery, Cleveland, OK.
Edith's memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her, as her spirit continues to live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
