Francis Edward Hartmann, 94, of Blanco passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018, at his residence in Blanco surrounded by family and friends.
Francis was born on December 3, 1923 to Clara Jenschke Hartmann and Edward Hartmann. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Blanco and a World War II Army Air Corps Veteran. Francis worked for Security Service for thirty-five years and was a member of the American Legion in Blanco and D.A.V. in Fredericksburg. He loved his family very much and was known for his hard work and ranching skills and was an avid hunter.
Survivors include his wife of seventy-two years, Gertrude Weber Hartmann of Blanco; children, Francis "Stephen" Hartmann and his wife Georgia of Blanco, Phillip Hartmann of San Antonio, Laurie T. Hartmann of Cypress, Texas and Guy T. Hartmann of San Antonio; his sister, Florence Skruhak of San Antonio; grandchildren, Nicholas D. Hartmann and his wife Karen, Louis N. Hartmann and his wife Sara, Edward Hartmann and his wife Molly, John Hartmann and his wife Shannon, Cale Hartmann, Shannon Zambon and her husband Giorgio and Kristin Hartmann; 10 great grandchildren, Sophie, Jocelyn, Venice, Adalyn, Everleigh, Sara, Katie, Colton, Cash and Kamryn.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018, at the Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Blanco with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Blanco with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Twin Sisters. After the services a bereavement lunch will be served at the St. Ferdinand Catholic Church Family Center in Honor of Mr. Hartmann.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Edward Hartmann, John Hartmann, Nicholas Hartmann, Louis Hartmann, Cale Hartmann, Steve Keller, Colton Keller and Cash Keller.
In lieu of flowers "Memorial Contributions" can be made to St. Ferdinand Catholic Church located at 25 Main Street, Blanco, TX 78606 or Hill Country Hospice located at 808 Rueben Street, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.
