Freeman Jennings, 89, born June 16, 1924, passed away on September 30, 2013 at his home surrounded by family. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Crofts ? Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, Texas. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday, October 4, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Blanco, with burial to follow with military honors in the Blanco Cemetery.

Freeman was born in Lynn, Oklahoma to Fred and Beulah Mae (Norman) Jennings. He graduated from high school in Ada Oklahoma and the Eastern University of Oklahoma college with a Bachelor of Science degree. Freeman married June Walker in 1953 in New Braunfels, Texas. He worked as a school teacher for many years at Canyon Lake, Sattler's Mountain Valley School, and Sherwood School and received a life time teaching certificate from the state of Oklahoma. Freeman also retired from the United States Army Corps of Engineers at Canyon Lake Dam. His passions were ranching raising goats, playing dominos and the horse races. Freeman was a lift time member of the Tri County 9 Pin bowling clubs. He was preceded in death by his parents, and six siblings; Harold , Tony, Freda, Lois, Doris and Frances.

Freeman is survived by his wife of 60 years, June Jennings of Blanco, Tx., sons; Cody Jennings and wife Kathy of Spring Branch, Tx., Freeman Dean Jennings and wife Ritu of Tulsa, Ok., daughters; Rafaye Armstrong and Jeff of New Braunfels, Tx., Senisa Jennings and Tom of Blanco, Tx., a brother; Ramsey "Sonny" Johnson of El Cajon, Calif., sisters; Patsy Vinson of Duncan, OK., and Penny Riggs of San Saba, Tx. He had six grandchildren; Dalton Jennings, Jessica Nichols, Sarra Armstrong, Justin Schlameus, Robin and Bryan Jennings, as well as three great-granchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
