Genevieve "Jenny"
Marie Bera
Dec 9, 1943 — Jun 2, 2019
Blanco
Genevieve "Jenny" Marie Bera , 75, of Blanco passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at her residence in Blanco.
Jenny was born on December 9, 1943 in Long Beach, California to Jeanne Margaret Merrill Brown and William Henry Brown. She graduated from Bellflower High School in 1961 and was a devout Catholic. Jenny loved watching her beloved Joe Montana and the 49ers every Sunday, listening to Elvis sing her to sleep, playing Mahjong and Bingo, and traveling to Vegas to gamble her quarters away while visiting her youngest daughter, Theresa. She adored adding to and modeling her eclectic hat collection, and a delivery from Taco Bell was always welcome. It was no secret Jenny loved cooking and often jotted down recipes, tweaking favorites for family members with special dietary needs. She also had a soft spot for many children's causes and was always as generous as possible in her prayers and donations. More than anything, Jenny loved God and her entire family dearly, and very much enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include her seven children, Michele McCullough of West Covina, California; Christopher Meeks and his wife, Janina, of Arlington, Texas; Brian Meeks and his wife, Julie, of La Vernia, Texas; Erin Meeks of Blanco, Texas; Todd Meeks and his wife, Jennifer, of Orange County, California; Sean Coble of Blanco, Texas; Theresa Burkholder and her husband, Michael, of Las Vegas, Nevada; 25 grandchildren (Alicia, Timothy, Nicole, Kristin, Melissa, Eric, Justin, Jessica, Megan, Joseph, Danielle, Jordan, Amanda, Jacob, Aidan, Andrew, Benjamin, Daniel, Angeline, Jonathan, Nathan, Maddison, Isabella, Joshua, and Kathryn), and 18 great-grandchildren. Jenny was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles Milford Brown, who is survived by his wife, Maria "Prinny" Brown and family.
A visitation will take place from 5 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Blanco with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
