George Paul Braun passed away December 3, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas.  He was born on August 10, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas to George M. Braun and Elsa H. (Heidmann) Braun.

He graduated from Edison High School and then enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.  He worked for the Rocketdyne Division of North American Rockwell and then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.  After being honorably discharged, he entered the Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) program in the Graduate School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and eventually became a Certified Public Accountant.  His accounting practice was based in San Antonio, Texas and focused on tax accounting.

George is survived by his brother, Carl Braun of Austin, Texas; nephew, Justin Braun and wife Caroline of Austin, Texas; niece, Lindsay Neal and husband Dustin of Abilene, Texas; grandnieces, Emma Jane Braun, Heidi Elisabeth Braun, and Clara Taylor Neal.  He is also survived by longtime friend and companion, Samantha Johnson and her son Samuel.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Heidmann Family Cemetery on the ranch near Twin Sisters, Texas.  Arrangements under the direction of Croft – Crow Funeral Home, 911 Mesquite (P.O. Box 1270), Blanco, TX 78606.
