Gertrude Ruby (Weidner) Johnson, 96 of Blanco, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 16 at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 17 ^th at 2:00 PM at Crofts – Crow Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery in Kendalia, Texas.

Gertrude was born on February 18, 1920 in Kendalia to Leslie Gourley and Ruby McElroy. She attended school there and married the children's father Lee Weidner, who preceded her in death many years ago. Gertrude later married Claude Johnson and he preceded her in death in 2001. She worked as a clerk in department stores as well as working for several nurseries. She was preceded in death by one brother, Elroy, three sisters, Mildred, Ruth, and Jewel, a granddaughter Natalie, a great grandson, Raysen.

Gertrude is survived by three sons: Dennis Weidner of Lake Jackson, Tx., Jerrol Weidner of New Braunfels, Tx., and Errol Weidner of Boerne, Tx. A daughter Ruby Young of Kendalia, Tx.

Eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
