Gwendolyn "Gwen" Genell Bushnell Pickett, 90, of Johnson City, Texas passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 , at the LBJ Medical Center in Johnson City, Texas.

Gwen was born December 8, 1927, in Johnson City, Texas to Deward and Ida Bushnell.  Gwen graduated from high school in Johnson City High School in 1947 and worked for Minnie Pilgrim in her restaurant.   Later that year Gwen went to work at Pedernales Electric Cooperative where she retired.  Gwen married Melvin Pickett in 1976 and is survived by his daughter Glenda, grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brother D.R. Bushnell Jr., his wife Genevia, their sons David, Dennis and Ronnie Bushnell their wives and children, and a host of long-term friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, her parents and her brother Bill.

Gwen was active at her church and in the community for much of her life.  She was a member of the First Christian Church, Eastern Star and the Emergency Services Auxiliary.

A visitation of family and friends will be Monday, July 16, 2018 , from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City, Texas.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 17 ^th at 1:00 PM at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City, Texas.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the charity of your choice.
