Obituary

Hilda Lee Cheshire Kroll, longtime resident of Johnson City, passed away on January 30, 2007 at the age of 80.Born on June 12, 1926 in Keyser, West Virginia to H.R. and Blanche Cheshire, Hilda graduated from Warren County High School in Front Royal, Virginia in 1943, at the age of 16. She went to work as a secretary for an attorney, where she remained until moving to Johnson City in 1948. She married Albert Kroll, in 1949.She worked at the Blanco County Clerk's office and then as a legal secretary at Moursund Law Offices until her retirement after more than 40 years.In 1992, she was appointed by Governor Anne Richards to serve on the LCRA Board of Directors, and was appointed to a second term by Governor George Bush.Hilda is survived by Albert Kroll, her husband of 57 years; sister Gladys Stubbs of Johnson City, Texas ; sister Audrey Hite of Front Royal, Virginia; brother H.R. Cheshire, Jr. of Statesboro, Georgia; daughter Abbie and son-in-law Bill Green of West Point, New York; daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law James Nielsen of Stonewall, Texas; grandchildren William Green, Harrison Green, Caroline Green, Charlotte Green, Dillon Nielsen, Dustin Nielsen and Devin Nielsen; and many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at Crofts Funeral Home at 10 am Saturday, February 3, 2007 with burial service to follow at Miller Creek Cemetery.Pallbearers will be George Birck, Rory Boatright, Bennie Fuelberg, Will Moursund, Brad Nielsen, Franklin "Fuzzy" Reagor, Cecil Joe Scott and Rusty Weirich.Memorial donations should go to the North Blanco Co. EMS.
