Hilmar John Preiss, Jr . of Blanco, Texas passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018, at L.B.J. Medical Center in Johnson City, Texas.

"Junior" as his family referred to him as was born on October 19, 1930, in Twin Sisters, Texas to Lucy Merle Reeves Preiss and Hilmar John Preiss, Sr.  He was a lifelong member of Blanco and was retired truck driver for railroad companies and various ranches in Uvalde and Sonora, Texas.  Junior was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea.  He was a Rancher and loved riding horses and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Judy Carol Preiss of Floresville; sons, Aldon Joe Preiss of El Segundo, California and Tom J. Preiss of Floresville, Texas; sisters, Jerry Cogill of Helotes, Texas and Anita Wagner of Blanco; two grandchildren, Van Preiss and Justin Preiss both of California.

A visitation will take place from 6 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Blanco.  A Graveside Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Blanco Cemetery.
