Ima W. Lengefeld, 86, a resident of Johnson City and former resident of Corpus Christi, died Friday, April 1, 2005 in LBJ Medical Center in Johnson City, Texas after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband John R. Lengefeld, parents Mercer and Addie Wolf, brothers Adolph, Kenneth and Jay Wolf, and son-in-law J. Quinton Pope.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Cheryl Lengefeld and her daughter, Deborah L. Pope, all of Johnson City, Texas; five grandchildren, Danna Lengefeld of Los Cruces, New Mexico, John Lengefeld of Austin, Texas, Lea Pope Blevins (Scott) of Kerrville, Texas, Timothy Pope (Jennifer), of San Antonio, Texas, Matthew Pope of Corpus Christi, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Libby Lengefeld and Zachary, Abigail and Eden Blevins; sister, Buna McKinnon of San Antonio, Texas; many nieces and nephews.Mrs. Lengefeld moved from San Antonio to Corpus Christi in 1964 where she became an executive secretary for Del Mar College. Upon retirement from Del Mar College in 1980, she moved with her husband to Johnson City, Texas. Before her illness, she was active in the First Baptist Church of Johnson City.A private family graveside service was held on Monday, April 4, 2005 in the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery, Johnson City, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts to be made to the Recreation Ministry of the First Baptist Church, Corpus Christi, Texas, Del Mar College Scholarship Fund, Del Mar College, Corpus Christi, Texas or the charity of their choice.
