Jackie Mark Cudd passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at his home in Blanco, Texas, surrounded by his beloved family. Jack was born on July 15, 1932, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Coy Millard Cudd and Velma (Griffin) Cudd, and was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Bernie and Delorus Cudd, on their dairy farm in Caddo, Oklahoma.
Jack graduated from Caddo High School as part of the Class of 1950. Following his graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. After completing his military service, Jack relocated to San Antonio, Texas, where he dedicated his career to Security Services at Kelly Air Force Base until his retirement in 1987. During this time, he met Catherine Elizabeth Matheny. Jack and Cathy were married on April 1, 1967, after a very short courtship.
The couple moved to Pipe Creek, Texas, where they began their family and created countless cherished memories together. They later settled in Blanco, Texas, where Jack embraced his passions. He took great pleasure in his "Grandpa's Workshop," where he honed his woodworking skills and lovingly crafted a variety of projects, particularly birdhouses, for family members. He was happiest when surrounded by his loved ones and will be remembered for his warm spirit and generous heart.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, his sister Patricia Fitzgerald, grandson Wesley Reid Cudd, and granddaughter Jenise Clark. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Cathy Cudd; five children, Jackie Ahrens and husband John, Steve Cudd and wife Hope, Matt Cudd, Penny Thomas and husband Scott, and Wesley Cudd; nine grandchildren, Jason, Kirk, Nick, Matthew, Madi, Jett, Haylei, Caydance, and Cooper; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 25 Main St., Blanco, TX, with the Rosary beginning at 10:00 AM and Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 1, 2025.
The family encourages attendees to contribute memorial offerings in lieu of flowers to St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, P.O. Box 757, Blanco, TX 78606.
