James Roger
Beasley
Sep 20, 1943 — Feb 16, 2021
Blanco
James Roger Beasley, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on February 16, 2021 after a lengthy illness.
Roger was born in Aransas Pass, Texas but grew up in Rockport, Texas, a coastal town he remained close to for the rest of his life. Growing up on the Texas coast gave him his love of the sea. In high school Roger was a lifeguard at SeaAire Pool, teaching many of the Rockport-Fulton kids to swim. He graduated from Aransas County High School in 1961. He attended Victoria Junior College, and then Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas, where he received a degree in Business Management. Roger threw his talents for problem solving into a career as an energy management consultant for electric utilities in Texas and Florida.
Roger was a natural born sailor who loved participating in sailing races and events with yacht clubs in every city he lived in. It was through sailing that he met his wife, Terry. Roger and Terry carried their love of racing into sports car racing with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Roger loved to laugh and to make others laugh. He loved challenges. After retirement to the Texas Hill Country, he and Terry poured their energies into building their dream home.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Teresa Beasley of Blanco, Texas; one son, Brian Lee Beasley of Cape Coral, Florida; one daughter, Traci Gail (Jon) Hutson of Austin Texas; two granddaughters, Olivia & Sofia Hutson of Austin, Texas; one brother William Edward (Patty) Beasley, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; one aunt, Margaret (Warren) Cludson of Pittsburg, Kansas;
Roger was preceded in death by his parents William Edward and Farilynn Beasley, Sr. and a brother, Dellon Farmer Beasley.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Fredericksburg, Texas.
