James Sidney Ethridge passed away on Saturday, March 25 ^th in Stonewall, Texas. James Sidney Ethridge was born on September 28, 1942 in Blanco, Texas to Claude and Lonnie Ethridge. He was raised in Blanco, Tx where he grew up working on cars under the big shade tree in front of his parent's home with his best friend, Winston Moore that was later married to James' sister, Dorothy.  He was drafted into the Army on May 6, 1964.  He married Glenna Cheryl Schaeferkoeter of Spring Branch on July 23, 1964 right out of basic training and have been married 52 years. They had 3 children, Donna Vasquez, married to Rene Vasquez of La Vernia, James Jr. they called Jimmy of Johnson city, and Penny Hopper of San Leon, Tx.  He is survived by his wife, 3 children and 4 grandchildren, Shane Vasquez of San Antonio, Bethany Ethridge of San Leon, Heather Corley of Spring Branch, and Adam Vasquez that is in the Navy and stationed in Kings Bay, Georgia.  There are 5 great grandchildren. James is also survived by his brothers Mike and Curtis and his sister Dorothy Moore, and several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his granddaughter, Samantha.   James had a strong passion for flying and Mike, his brother helped him to buy his first plane and he eventually was able to pick up his second plane in Albany, New York last year with his wife.  He worked for his brother Mike for over 44 years and he loved his job.  He passed away while flying and doing what he loved.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 30 ^th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco. Services will be on Friday, March 31 ^st at 1:00 PM in Crofts – Crow Funeral Chapel.
