James Franklin "Jim" Raby , 48, of Blanco passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, surrounded by loved ones.
Jim was born on May 13, 1971, in Odessa, Texas to Kathrin "Kathy" Raby-Keim and Thomas Louis Raby. He was a proud Marine Corps Veteran who served in Desert Storm and Somalia. He was also a talented musician who wrote and performed music that touched countless hearts and filled numerous dance floors throughout the years. He was devoted Christian and often volunteered as a Youth Group Leader where he ministered to teens as they began and continued their walks with God. Jim was a hands-on father who helped coach his children's soccer teams, and never missed a football game when his son was on the field. He loved his family, loved his church, loved his friends; he loved life in general. In the coming days, those who knew him will reminisce fondly about his laugh, smile, and crooked sense of humor.
He is survived by his children, Thomas Justin Raby of Corpus Christi, Texas; Carter James Raby of Blanco, Texas and Dakota Rose Raby of Alpine, Texas; fiancée, Kelsay Edwards of Blanco, Texas; mother, Katherin Raby-Keim and her husband, Gary of Runaway Bay, Texas; brother, Paul Michael Raby and his wife Kim of Bridgeport, Texas; sister, Bitsy Ann Lansford and her husband Terry of Runaway Bay, Texas; grandmother, Virginia McCollom of Bridgeport, Texas; step-brother, Jarrett Keim and his wife Lindsey; step-brother Donnie Keim and wife Andrea all of Edmond, Oklahoma; step-sister, Kari Alhum and husband Doug of Rogers, Arkansas; father and mother-in-law James and Debbie Caudell; sister-in-law Collin Caudell Gaskamp and husband Brian all of Blanco, Texas; several aunts and uncles; treasured nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Louis Raby who passed in January of 2001 and Jim's wife Candice Clara Caudell Raby who passed away in August of 2014.
