James O. Tanner, 73, of Fredericksburg, passed away Thursday, Dec.14,2006 at Knopp Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.Funeral services are to be held on Monday, Dec 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Christadelphian Chapel with Gerald Sankey and Wilton Sankey officiating. Wendy Lovejoy as the pianist. Intermet to be followed in the Christadelphian Cemetery. Visitation held for family and friends Sunday, Dec 17 from 3:00p.m to 5:00p.m.at Croft Funeral Home, Johnson City. James was born Dec 7,1933 in El Frieda,Arizona; the son of Warren F. Tanner and Maggie Haley Tanner. He married Faye JoAnn Owen Mar 17, 1963 in San Antonio and she survives. Experienced in many trades, James retired as a male attendant at the Kerrville State Hospital. Dedicated to studying and teaching the Bible, his other favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting and Bluegrass music.In addition to his wife, James is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth N and Ola Tanner of Bryan,Tx; one brother, Wayne R. Tanner and his wife, Dorothy of Bulverde,Tx; one sister,Claudia Pitts of Camden, Ark; grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild.Pallbearers are Steve Tanner, Sheldon Woods, Chris Dice, John Sankey, Lantz Whitehead and David Whitehead.
