Obituary

Mrs. William Lee Smith, nee Janet Rader, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at the age of 84 years.
Janet was born on March 15, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of John and Ethel Fassnidge Rader. She married William Lee Smith on June 12, 1952 at Woodlawn Methodist Church in San Antonio. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2006.
She grew up taking ballet lessons and then teaching ballet and ballroom dancing. She attended Trinity University in San Antonio. After her marriage and move to Blanco, Texas, she was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She was the President of the Home Demonstration Club, taught Sunday School, and belonged to the Pleasant Hill Community Club. She was a teaching assistant at Stonewall school and then became a teacher at Stonewall Head Start and Kindergarten. Janet and her husband started L&L Drilling Company and she was the secretary and bookkeeper until 2014.
She is survived by one daughter and two sons, including Janalee Hannemann and her husband, Paul, of Fredericksburg; Gregory Smith and his wife, Lynette, of Hye; and Johnny Smith and his wife, Tracy, of Puyallup, WA; and eight grandchildren, Don Hannemann, Jill Hannemann Minshew, Jessica Smith, Michael Smith, Colleen Smith, Devin Smith, Sean Smith, and Rory Smith; and three great grandchildren, Brynlee Minshew, Bonnie Minshew, and Nicole Hannemann.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, Texas. Funeral services will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Blanco, Texas on Saturday July 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the Blanco Cemetery in Blanco, Texas
Pallbearers included Don Hannemann, Logan Minshew, Dock Smith, Robert Smith, Frank LeBlanc, and Mason LeBlanc.
Memorials may be made to St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Blanco Masonic Lodge, or the charity of your choice.
Arrangements were under the direction of Crofts - Crow Funeral Home in Blanco.
