Janet Stevenson age 77 of Johnson City, TX, passed away peacefully Friday evening, December 14, 2018 at Brookdale Hollywood Park Senior Living in San Antonio, Texas. She was born September 12, 1941 in Big Foot, Texas to Duncan Edward Ross, Sr. and Ruby Eaton Ross.
Jan was very involved in her church and wanted to help spread the love to others. She was a kind and caring lady that was always there for her family and friends. For years she helped raise money for her Johnson City and Calliham church. She loved playing the piano, crocheting and canning jelly and hot sauce. She enjoyed playing games and solving puzzles with anyone that would play with her!
Granny is most famous for her yummy cooking (French donuts, tacos, and Mac and Cheese and so much more). You were a special Wife, Mom, Granny, Memaw, and "Net" to us!
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lee Franz and husband Gary; son Ronnie Jackson and wife Jennifer; step-children, Tony Stevenson and wife Gayla, Shannon Stevenson and wife Mary, Wynn Stevenson and wife Kathy and Chris Stevenson and wife Holly; twin sister, Janice Redden. Janet is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Duncan and Ruby Ross; two brothers, Duncan Edward Ross, Jr. and Charles Louis Ross; niece, Rebecca Terrell; grandson, Ty Jackson; her husband of 40 years, Denny Wayne Stevenson who passed away on March 30, 2017. They were married on December 25, 1976.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home located at 305 E. Elm Street, Johnson City, TX 78636.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ernest Topper officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery.
