Obituary

Jeanne Anne Cantwell , 87, passed away on January 14, 2018, in Austin, TX.  She was born on May 21, 1930 in Clovis, New Mexico to Charles Berwin & Mamie (Lucas) Marshall.

Jeanne is survived by son, John Fox and wife Molly of Lexington, KY; daughter Patricia Patterson and husband Randy of Dover, TN; son Mack Cantwell and wife Kim of Johnson City, TX; and brother Bill Marshall and wife Martha of Wichita Falls, TX.

She was also survived by 7 grandchildren; Melissa (Philip) Thompson, Vicki (Scott) Henson, Dale Alan (Jennifer) Hatfield, Todd (Kelly) Fox, Nathan (Crystal) Fox, Kacie Cantwell & Logan Cantwell and 9 great grandchildren; Caleb Thompson, Skylar Henson, Jacob, Katie, Connor and Nolan Hatfield, and Kaden, Marshall and Emmy Fox.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer (Al) Cantwell, son David Fox, brother Charles Marshall and nephew, David Marshall.

Jeanne moved to Houston, TX in 1974 where he met the love of her life, Al Cantwell, they then moved to the Hill Country where she remained. Texas may not have been where she was born, but it was definitely her home.  She was employed with the Red McCombs Ranch, Johnson City Bank and PEC for many years before retiring.

Mom had a passion for flowers and gardening and passed that love on to her children.  Never a year went by that she didn't plant flowers; she loved to just sit outside and admire them. She loved to watch the birds come to the feeders, and even got out her "bird" book if she saw one she didn't recognize (which was rare). She was always an avid reader and spent many hours at the local library. Butterflies have always been special to her. She loved to paint them, hang pictures in her house or just watch them flutter by. If her children or grandchildren were ever in doubt on what to buy for her, we could always buy something with butterflies and it was a sure winner.

Most of all she loved her family. Mom's children and grandchildren always held a special place in her heart. Just a phone call or a visit from any of them would make her happy. As long as she knew everyone was happy and healthy she was satisfied. She was a very giving person and never expected anything in return. We were blessed to have had our Mom & Grandma with us for 87 years. Although we will miss her here on this Earth, we know she is in Heaven with her Al & David and we will see her again one day.

At Mom's request there will be no funeral, but a celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made in Jeanne's name to the Johnson City Library.
