Joann S. Madris of Johnson City passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Fredericksburg, TX with her family by her side.  Joann was born August 27, 1948 in San Angelo, TX to Willie Bob and Genwyl Schell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Wessley T. Starks and her second husband, Robert Madris; sister, Janice Rosser; and two brothers, Homer Schell and Bobby Schell.

Joann is survived by her son, Kelly Starks and wife Melissa; step-daughter, Deja Gonzales-Bua; sister, Donna Willberg; best and life-long friend, Elaine Adams; grandchildren, Joel Lopez, Annette Starks, Wesley Starks (Andrea), and Tim Manis; great grandchildren, Genwylo-Jo Starks, Jermiah Starks, Jordan Delacruz, Josiah Escobedo, Serfina Rios, Avianna Escobedo, Alicia Starks, and Izabella Yarbrough.  Joann leaves behind many other loving relatives and a host of dear friends.

The family will receive friends 12:30 – 1:00 PM Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Liberty Lighthouse Fellowship, 321 Old River Crossing, Johnson City, TX 78636 where funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jim Boatright officiating.  Interment will follow in the Johnson City Mason Cemetery.
