On Wednesday January 22, 2014, Joel Gonzalez, of Blanco, TX, passed away in San Antonio after a well fought battle with cancer. He was born in Mexico on January 17, 1944 to Ruperto and Vicenta Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Hortencia, brother Lionel and sisters, Cecilia, Yolanda, and Martha Asidalia. He is survived by his daughters Letty and Lulu Gonzalez and his sister Petra Nunez. Joel also leaves behind his beloved dog, 'Jasper' who has been his constant companion and side-kick for many years. Joel will be remembered as a loving father and kind-hearted friend to many. He also played the role of 'Tio' (uncle) to numerous people in Blanco. Visitation will be held Sunday January 26, at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Blanco. A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 29 Main St., Blanco, TX 78606.
