John Jacob Stauffer, Jr. 82, passed away October 14, 2016 at his home in Kendalia.  He was born April 20, 1934 in San Antonio to John Stauffer, Sr. and Ruth Loftus Stauffer.  John's endeavors were never half-hearted, he attended the fire Academy, went on to work for and retire from the San Antonio fire department. He also was an accomplished home builder, and had a passion for music. He had a band, Johnny Stauffer and The Rhythm Wranglers for over 30 years.

John was preceded in death by his parents; first wife of 45 years, Mary June Goins; sister, Myrtle Ruth Juleg; and step-daughter Jennifer Dawn Holbrook.

He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Barbara Goins Stauffer; son, John Michael Stauffer; daughters, Wendy Sue Smith and husband Zane, Tina Marie Thacker, Robin Denise Perkins and Stacy De Ann Jenschke and husband Heath; stepson, Paul Larson and wife Audra; sister, Esther Gertrude Goins and husband James; grandchildren Weldon, Alyssa, Ryan, Jürgen, Seth, Chloe', Jeret, Ashley, Sierra, and Logan. He is also survived by great grandchildren, Jude, Forrest, Riley and Gavyn as well as a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Blanco where services will begin at 2:00 PM that afternoon. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Twin Sisters, TX.
