It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Kay Felps of Hye, Texas, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, who departed this world unexpectedly on December 27, 2024. Born on October 20, 1965, in Johnson City, Karen brought joy and positivity into the lives of all who knew her. She was a proud Blanco County native, a graduate of the Bob Hope Hughen School in Port Arthur, Texas, and a devoted member of her community.

Karen's spirit was contagious, and she enriched the lives of others with her love for music, dancing, and spending cherished moments playing cards and spending time with her family. Her laughter and kindness will forever echo in the hearts of those she touched.

Karen is survived by her devoted mother, Ellen Maenius Felps; her stepmother, Louetta Felps; and her siblings: Mike, Kathy (and John), Curtis, and Jed, as well as her stepbrother Mark Felps Weiershausen. She will also be remembered by her nieces, nephews, and a multitude of dear friends. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Donald F. Felps and a step sister, Connie Felps Weiershausen.

A celebration of Karen's life will take place beginning with visitation on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City. Funeral services will follow on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM, where Rev. Ryan Meyer will officiate the ceremony, honoring the beautiful life that Karen lived. After the service, Karen will be laid to rest in Wilke Cemetery in Albert, Texas.
